Yukata is a type of non-formal Japanese kimono made ​​of thin cotton fabric without coating. Yukata term literally means: clothes after a bath. Used for casual occasions in the summer (Natsu). Yukata are made from cotton that easily passed the wind, so that the body becomes cool in the afternoon or evening after bath with hot water in Japan.

In the Edo period, Yukatabira become very popular among the people and its name shortened to just Yukata. In ancient times, wearing Yukata to meet with other people is considered very impolite, given the function Yukata are just as sleepwear. But now, Yukata can be worn any time or time to go anywhere. In fact, these clothes are a major clothing worn when viewing Hanabi Matsuri (fireworks festival). Yukata are commonly made from cotton cloth, although now many are made ​​of mixed materials, such as cotton mixed with polyester. Yukata for men are usually made ​​of a material with a dark base color (like black, dark blue, dark purple) with a pattern of dark lines. Obi is a cloth wrapped around his waist, the length is about 4 to 5 meters. The width used for Yukata Obi is half the width of Obi who used to wear a Kimono.
